About the Department

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 2002. The development and the growth were very progressive and within a short period of time the department earned the reputation of being one of the best for the Electronics & Communication education. The Department is accredited by NBA in 2009 and re-accredited in 2017, which is valid till 2020.
The Department has the most advanced and aesthetically created infrastructural facilities in the campus which includes an exclusive auditorium, a department library and R & D facilities. A novel Community Projects Lab is created to encourage innovation and design of solutions to the grassroot level problems. A wide range of latest technologies, ICT and proven Outcome Based Educational processes ensure that the students learning process is participative and purely experiential. The faculty expertise and research oriented mind-set helps the students to come up with best possible technology solutions. The recent achievements by the students at the JNTUH Excite program, IIIT-Hyderabad and BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus stand testimony to innovative capabilities of the students.

Head of the Department

Dr.S. Satheeskumaran B.E, M.E, Ph.D

Dr. S. Satheeskumaran received PhD degree in Information and Communication Engineering in 2016. Currently he serves as a professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Anurag Group of Institutions, Hyderabad, India. He is a guest editor for Inderscience and Springer journals and served as a volume editor for Springer conference proceedings. He has research and teaching experience of more than 18 years and his research interests include Internet of things, Machine learning, Biomedical Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence based healthcare applications. He received research grants from Government and Private funding agencies and recipient of best faculty award and emerging researcher award for his contribution towards teaching and research. He has published more than 50 research papers in SCI/Scopus journals and reputed conferences. He is a reviewer for IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley and IGI Global journals and reviewed more than 200 research papers. He also served as keynote speaker, advisory committee member and Session chair for IEEE/Springer international conferences.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)
PEO1 The graduates should have a solid foundation of conceptual knowledge in mathematics, sciences and basic engineering and other support courses that are requisites for understanding the core subjects of the curriculum./p>
PEO2 The graduates should have the professional competency in cutting edge technologies and skills to handle modern tools to solve complex technological problems and become proficient in research, design and development of products, processes and systems as may be required in their career in Electronics engineering in a global scenario.
PEO3 The graduates should be endowed with professionalism, ethical behavior, effective communication skills, spirit of teamwork, multidisciplinary approach and ability to relate engineering issues to broader social and environmental issues.
PEO4 The graduates should have the inbuilt capacity for lifelong learning to keep updated constantly with emerging technologies and tools and create a niche for themselves and the institute attracting high demand for employability in the area of their choice in industry, in research, in academics or as an entrepreneur.

Department of ECE & EEE organized first International conference on Intelligent Computing and Smart Communication Technologies at Anurag Group of Institutions, Hyderabad, during 26-27, July 2019. Authors from all over India and across the world submitted their papers. We received papers from all over India, Belgium, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Nepal.

Many quality papers have been received from Industry and reputed Government Organizations. Some of the organizations are DLRL, BHEL, Bosch, microchip Honeywell, Sasken communications, DXC Technology. Conference paper details are given below:-

ECE department organized National Conference on “Intelligent Systems for Computing, Control and Communications” 28th & 29th of March, 2018. Mr. M. Srinivasa Rao, Vice president, iCOMM Pvt. Ltd. Delivered the keynote address on “Electronic Warfare”.54 papers received and 36 papers selected for presentation. All the accepted papers are published in proceeding with ISBN and UGC approved journal.

Achievements

Department Achievements:

  • Department conducted Springer International Conference on “Intelligent Computing & Smart Communication Technologies (ICSCT-2019)” during July 27-28, 2019. Conference is also supported by Inderscience, Wiley & Emerald publishers. Totally 323 papers received from the authors all over the world and 156 papers presented at the conference.
  • Department received Best Department award for the Academic year 2018-19.
  • Department organized DST short term training program on Internet of Things during 15-27 July, 2019. Mr. D. Narendar Singh received 9 Lakhs Funding from DST under ICPS Scheme. 45 faculty members attended the program from all over India.
  • Department established centre for training and development in advanced technologies and centre for artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve the employability of students.
  • Department organized J-Hub 36 hours Hackathon Vibhavana during 21 & 22 December, 2018. 36 teams from more than 20 institutionsparticipated in that event and 3 teams shortlisted for central Hackathon at JNTUH
  • Department has a quarterly magazine “Radiance” to provide technical and non-technical information to the students and to highlight the department achievements

  • Dr. S. Sathees Kumaran has been recognized as a Lead Guest Editorfor four Scopus Indexed Inderscience and Wiley Journals. He has been appointed as a volume editor for Springer Book series. He published three research papers in publication in Elsevier/Springer SCI indexed journals. He has been invited as a keynote speaker for “IEEE international conference on communications” at Shanghai Unversity, China. He also received recognized reviewer certificate from Elsevier and Wiley Publishers.
  • Mr. D. Narendar Singh received mentoring certificate for smart India Hackathon from IISC, Bangalore. He was nominated as mentor for a team of top 20 teams at Central Hackathon organized by J-Hub, JNTUH, Hyderabad. He also applied for three patents in Embedded/IoT/Machine Learning based products.
  • Dr. C. Raja Kumar, Mr. A. Madhusudhan, Mr. L. Praveen Kumar & Mrs. J. Sudha Rani trained the mechanical department faculty at FDP on “Matlab and its Applications” during November, 2018.
  • Dr. T. Rajesh published a paper in SCI indexed Taylor & Francis journal. He visited University of West Bohemia, Czech republic and Lublin university, Poland for two months as part of his research work.
  • Mr. P. Rama Krishna has been invited as a resource person for the workshop on VLSI under IETE-ISF and FDP on "Advanced CMOS digital and Analog Circuits" at VBIT.
  • Mr. M. Kiran Kumar has been invited as a resource person for one day workshop on “Blooms Taxanomy” on 29.3.2019 at JNTUH Hyderabad.

Alumni

The CVSR Alumni Association (CVSRAA) was formed in the year 2008 with Mr. U. V. Kiran as the President and Mr. Rajesh Kannekanti was elected as the General Secretary and CH. Venkateswarao was elected as the Vice-President. They were primarily instrumental in the formation of the CVSRAA We are the Alumni Association of CVSR , HYDERABAD. We provide a common platform for the alumni of the institute to reach out other alumni across various batches, branches, and interests. The First Alumni meeting was organized on 20 Jan 2008 with 30 students from the first batch attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions and shared their experiences in the industry. The Second Alumni meet was organized on 19 Jun 2009 and students from 2006, 2007 and 2008 passed out batches have attended the meets.

Alumni Cell

The Alumni Cell was established by the institute in Feb 2008 as a bridge between the Alumni Association and the Institute. It also connects the association with the alumni, faculty and students. This was followed with the formation of Center of Excellence in India and connecting to other Center of Excellence and industry abroad, with the help of Alumni of CVSR

Few words of the HOD of the ECE Department Prof. Sri J. V Sharma Sir
(ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING) This year CVSR Alumni Meet was organized on JAN 7th. This time also CVSR Alumni has come from across the world and with new committee members. Over 100 students have attended the meet and shared their experiences and assured that the Alumni Association would be made as an interactive platform for all the students.
The Alumni wanted very much to have their association strengthened with their periodical get together for mutual benefits and to promote the Institution’s academic oriented growth.
  • The Chairman of the Institution Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy extended a hearty welcome to the Alumnus and appealed to them that Alumni are the brand ambassadors of the Institution and a very vibrant relationship must be established and nurtured.
  • A few students voiced their commitment to the college which helped them grow academically and also in terms of employment potentially.
  • Many of the Alumni expressed their willingness to help the Institution in training, placement, development of modern laboratories, and delivery of expert lectures in emerging areas of technology.
  • Vote of thanks was given by Mr. D. Narender Singh Asst Prof. and Prof. J. V. Sharma HOD/ECE- Alumni coordinator. The meeting came to an end with a sumptuous lunch. In the post lunch session, the alumni came up with many suggestions regarding the syllabus of courses, laboratory development etc. They also offered their services in the growth of Department. The general Body meeting of the Alumni Association was held and a new Executive body of Alumni Association for the year 2011-2012
