Event Description:

The event concentrated on developing and publishing apps for Firefox OS Mobile Platform. This event is meant to give a clear view about Firefox OS platform and encourage students to develop apps for Firefox OS and also for the web developers to port their apps to Firefox OS.

Sessions:

In the morning session,the speakers, Mr.SantoshVishwanatham, Mr.Akshay Tiwari and Mr.Sri Harsha started with introduction to open source technology, Mozilla and its various projects . Then continued the session with the basic introduction about add-ons and application development on Firefox OS Platform. They also illustrated the Manifest file, which plays a vital role to publish any application in to the marketplace, ‘App Maker’, one of the Web maker Tools where we can simply develop an application without writing a single line of code.

In the afternoon session, the participants started developing their applications .The entire session was continued till 6.00 PM. Total 17 applications were developed by the participants.

In the last session, the participants came up with demonstration of their applications. For best 3 applications prizes were distributed.

II Prize – ‘Qwerty7’ Team-Mr.Umakanth & Mr. Sreemukha for Ninja
III prize – ‘Eureka’ Team-Ms.Vaishnavi for Puzzie and ‘U’ Team- Mr D.Shiva Kumar & Ms.Ch.Rishika for Wishing App
