ISTE Student Chapter organized a workshop on “Career Planning and Development” on 30-DEC-2013. This was conducted for III B.Tech CSE students. Mr. Kasyap Palivela ,Product Manager ,HP Academy delivered the talks during the workshop.

Objective:Career planning workshop provided information and activities to assist the students in understanding and applying the career planning process.

Activities included were

1. SWOT Analysis: Students were provided with hardcopies for SWOT writing. SWOT(skills, weakness, opportunities, and threats) analysis is a key tool in the strategic planning process. SWOT analysis focuses on examining strength and weakness in the internal environment and opportunities and threats in the external environment.
2. Identifying Career options: Students were able to identify career options using a hands on approach.
3. Internet job search: By using the internet as a tool students were received information on career and complete activities to develop an understanding of how to use various website for various activities in job search like researching jobs, companies, industries etc.
4. Students developed the ability to submit the resumes online and discover tips for applying “on-line”.
