The “Colloquium 2012” was conducted by the Department of English,Anurag Group of Institutions on 12 July, 2012.

The “Colloquium 2012” was conducted by the Department of English,Anurag Group of Institutions on 12 July, 2012. The entire English faculty from sister concerned colleges of AGI took active part in the colloquium. Prof. M.Mutha Reddy, Principal, AGI inaugurated the colloquium and said that lot of collaborative work is taking place in the department to strengthen themselves as well as the students.

The first session on Basic Etiquette in communication Skills, was taken by Mr.VS Krishna Kumar, Faculty Anurag Engineering College, Kodad. He focused on the importance of the oral hygiene, clarity of the voice and body language which play a vital role in communication. Mrs.Lubna Ismail, Senior Faculty, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology gave a talk on how a teacher plays the role of a friend, Philosopher and Guide in molding a student.

Dr.R.V.Anuradha, Reader,EFLU, Hyderabad, the guest speaker enlighten the faculty with her interactive session on the importance of Soft Skills. She facilitated the session to explore the innate knowledge of the faculty through pair share work. The work sheet activity made every faculty to empower themselves in classroom management. Mrs.R.Anupama, Anurag College of Engineering, Aushapur pointed out the significance of the presentation skills. The video that was created by the student was inspiring and motivated the entire faculty.

Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Chairman AGI, addressed the faculty and said that there are three important things to be learnt. As a faculty of English one must find out the skills which are required for the industry, learning the required skills and imparting the skills to the colleagues and students. he also emphasized on the importance of sharing the knowledge among the faculty.
